Level I - Introduction to Massage
50 hours - Anatomy, Physiology and Structural Kinesiology
Anatomy - the science of the structure of an organism or body
Physiology - normal functions performed by various systems of the body
Kinesiology - study of muscular activity and mechanics of body movement
100 hours - Massage Theory & Demonstration
Therapeutic/ Clinical Techniques - their application, when to use them and their effects on tissues
Contraindication - when not to massage, or when certain applications are limited, techniques for specific conditions
Draping - how to cover your client during a massage to honor their privacy
Assessment - process of client intake form, postural assessment, constitution 'normal' muscle
Record Keeping - discussion about different methods of record keeping Insurance - discussion about ’insurance clients'
Hygiene - proper care of equipment, sheets, universal precautions, massage room and personal hygiene
Pathology - an introduction to different dysfunctions of the body and how they relate to massage
Business Practice - discussion about owning private business vs. working for someone else, greeting etiquette, appropriate attire, setting up a massage room
Personal Ethics - professional boundaries, rapport, the therapeutic relationship, transference
Demonstration of Various Massage Techniques - Therapeutic Swedish, Lomi Lomi, Joint Mobilizations & Myofascial Release.
Tuition for Level I : $1,600

Level II - Advanced Techniques
350 hours - Advanced Techniques
Weekly Class - A 4-hour class is offered once a week, year round. Some of the modalities that are included are: trigger point therapy, myofascial release, deep tissue massage, origin/insertion work, neuromuscular stretch, Active Release Techniques®, lymphatic drainage, advanced Lomilomi techniques, pregnancy massage, gentle passive movement
Hands-On Supervised Massage - A student massage clinic is offered to the public, so that the students can work on different body types. With each client there will be individual instruction depending on the needs of the client, including assessment, application of techniques and home care (i.e. stretches or hydrotherapy). The hours for these clinics are flexible, designed to work with individual students schedules.
70 hours - Clinical Operations
Sanitation - learn Hawaii State laws regarding sanitation, and will then be responsible for adhering to them whilst in clinic.
Office Procedures - learn the multi-faceted approach to running a private business, paperwork involved, client rapport, accounting, answering the phone and taxes
Record Keeping - how to manage intake forms, maintaining notes for each session and their relevance
Tuition for Level II is $52 for each 4 hour advanced class.
